The problem with gift knitting...

Is that you can't blog about it! I have some things, wee bitty baby things so cute they'll make your teeth hurt, that I finished over the weekend. I sent them off yesterday so perhaps by the weekend you'll get to see them. And I started another project yesterday... even took pictures, but realized I can't blog it either. If you are on Ravelry you can go peek there. The gift is for a non-knitter so I'm safe there.

I DO have some lovely things to show you though!

First up... prizes! Last month the Knitspot Fan Group on Ravelry had a contest to create a new button and banner. The group all voted on them and I won! The funny thing is I actually voted for and liked the second place banner better. Ah well. I won't complain! The prize was a gift certificate to the Knitspot Pattern Shop and the group owner sent some goodies my way as well.

Rosi G, The Soapy Knitter, makes her own bath products. The little picture of herself on the label totally cracks me up! And that scrub, Mango Lassi, smells SO good! The yarn is a fingering weight lace yarn. Miss N thinks it's hers since it's pink. (eyeroll) It may well be... it's the perfect amount for a wee little girl scarf. We shall see...

Also... last weekend Hub (again trying to beat out all other husbands for wonderfulness) took us all over to Coeur d'Alene. He dropped me off at a LYS I had not visited yet... and he took the girls and did our shopping at Costco. I told you, wonderful! Harmony Yarn was delightful. The owner was so hospitable and friendly and the yarn selection quite varied from the other stores I've been to in the area. Miss N came inside to get me and managed to leave with Hershey's kisses in several different flavors. I left with this Malabrigo...

I'm not sure what my thing with green is lately, but I like it. I don't wear it... I look like I'm about to toss my cookies when I do. But I like it. Go figure. The darker one is destined to be a hat for Hub... you know... one of those hats I've been promising him since I started knitting... And the brighter, I don't know. I just liked it. I was thinking I might be able to talk Hub into wearing it. He's trying to talk me out of it. lol! Now I've set my sights on my crazy younger brother Max... or maybe even my Mother-In-Law if she likes it. What do you think Mrs J?

What's up with the green, you ask? Could it be that you've been reading my blog and I'm rubbing off on you? ;-)

As for the Malabrigo, have you caught the cowl craze yet? I haven't knit one yet, but from everything I hear, Malabrigo is the perfect thing for around your neck.

Love your prize -- congrats and love Malbrigo too. I have been buying greem yarn as well -- maybe its a summer thing!

Mmm, love malabrigo:) I've been a big fan of green lately too, although I've mostly been collecting it and not so much knitting with it:)
